The K4 replaced the Forte after the 2024 model year, and it comes as a sedan or a hatchback. The sedan offers 38.0 inches of rear legroom, which Kia calls class leading, and a 14.6-cubic-foot trunk. The hatchback has 22.2 cubic feet behind the rear seats and 59.3 with them folded. A 12.3-inch touchscreen is standard on every trim, including the base LX, and the engines are a 147-horsepower 2.0-liter and a 190-horsepower 1.6-liter turbo.

Be clear on one thing before you shop: the K4 is front-wheel drive in every trim. Kia does not offer all-wheel drive on this car, so a good set of winter tires matters, and if you need all-wheel drive at this size, the Seltos is the vehicle to drive instead. EPA estimates are 33 mpg combined for the 2.0-liter sedan and 28 with the turbo.

Buying a Kia K4 at Dutch Miller Kia of Charleston: Common Questions

Is there an all-wheel-drive Kia K4?

No. The K4 is front-wheel drive in every trim, sedan and hatchback, and Kia does not offer all-wheel drive on this car. If you need all-wheel drive at this size, look at the Seltos.

Can I buy a Kia K4 from Huntington without making several trips to South Charleston?

Mostly, yes. Quotes, trade appraisals, credit applications and test drive appointments are all handled online, and we will send video of the specific vehicle if you are driving in from Beckley, Ripley or Huntington. Plenty of our Putnam County and Cabell County customers do the paperwork remotely and come to our showroom at 335 MacCorkle Ave in South Charleston once, to drive it and sign. Start with a quick quote and tell us what you want.

What is the difference between the K4 sedan and the K4 hatchback?

Same wheelbase, different back half. The sedan has 38.0 inches of rear legroom and a 14.6-cubic-foot trunk. The hatchback is about 11 inches shorter overall, with 22.2 cubic feet behind the rear seats and 59.3 with them folded.

Can you order a Kia K4 if the one I want is not on the lot?

We can. We can trade with another Kia store or place a factory order in your name, and we will give you an honest timeline before you commit rather than a hopeful one. Call 304-343-7700 and tell us the trim and the two or three colors you would accept, because flexibility on color is usually what turns a long wait into a short one.

Can I trade in my current car when I buy a Kia K4?

Almost always worth checking, and it costs you nothing to find out. Take a free KBB Instant Cash Offer and bring it in, or let us appraise the car while you drive. Vehicles you still owe on are fine; we handle the payoff.

Can I get approved for a Kia K4 with limited or imperfect credit?

We work with Kia Motors Finance and with local banks and credit unions, and there are programs written specifically for thin credit files. Set your own limit with the payment calculator, then submit a secure pre-approval before you shop. It takes minutes and commits you to nothing.
